Iceland volcano ash cloud unlikely to affect food supply

The latest volcano to erupt and share its black ash cloud with neighbouring countries (as well as others much further away) occurred at the Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland. Last year an eruption caused UK airlines to ground flights for 6 days due to potential disruption to aircraft engines caused by the spreading black ash cloud.
Subway’s opportunities as world’s largest restaurant chain

Subway sandwiches restaurant chain is now the largest in the world, in terms of the number of physical retail outlets. With nearly 34,000 units worldwide, the chain has grown significantly in recent years. McDonald’s is in second place, but is still in first position in terms of sales.
Banning McDonalds Happy Meals won’t solve obesity

McDonalds has received a letter from Corporate Accountability International saying that its marketing campaigns are part of the overall young persons obesity problem in the US. This report surfaced about the same time that 57 Year Old Don Gorske from Wisconsin, US, announces he has eaten 25,000 Big Macs over 39 years.
