Mixed Grills: The Barn Owl Inn

Our Second contender for the coveted Biggest Mixed Grill in Britain trophy has again been found near water!

The Barn Owl Inn, located in Manchester next to Bridgewater Canal, put together a mixed grill that they can’t even fit onto the plate (so chips have to be served in an extra bowl).

This is the right way to put together a mixed grill, there’s no doubt about that.

Mixed Grills: Berney Arms

There is some serious competition among restaurants located on the Norfolk Broads, UK.

However, the ‘biggest Mixed Grill on the Broads’ award goes to the Berney Arms Inn which serves Woodfordes Ales as well as others to boaters and walkers who pass through looking for a rest stop. It is located in Berney Arms, a place on the north bank of the River Yare not far from Breydon Water, and is original in that it cannot be reached by road.  The only way to reach it is by boat, on foot, or by train.

The reputation of the Mixed Grill at the Berney Arms Inn is spreading throughout the county (but not by car).

On entering the establishment, we were informed by the owners that they served the ‘biggest Mixed Grill on the Broads’.  Having sampled previous top notch sterling efforts from other Broads’ pubs and restaurants, their claim was met with a small amount of scepticism.  It shouldn’t have been.
