If you are curious about the standards of a restaurant, takeaway or pub kitchen, then this free application for iPhone can tell you instantly. We have now been able to test the food hygiene iPhone app for ourselves and here we will look at how it works.

Each food business receives a score out of 5 stars for their food hygiene, with 5 being the best, as part of the national ‘Scores on the Doors’ food hygiene rating scheme.

Now you can view these scores instantly using the iPhone food hygiene app.

The radar feature means you can simply point your mobile phone at a food business and it will flash up the score on screen instantly. A very nice touch. It is also easy to just type in the name of the business into the search function. So why not give it a try on some your favourite places to buy food or eat out? Hopefully the scores are 5 stars and what you were hoping for, as any less and you may have a niggling doubt over the kitchen cleaniness for quite some time.
